Matthew Waxman | Writer / Creative Producer
Make the Extra Pass

Deep research. Sharp angles.

Twenty years making sports content that's actually about something, not just pro athletes and highlight footage cut to a beat. I build the concept, write the script, and make sure every piece is arguing one clear idea. A Gold Clio and a Tribeca selection say the work holds up. The comments say I've won the internet roughly 17 times. I'd like to think both are true.

In Development

Pilot

B.W.O.C.

Documentary

The All-Star Cafe Heist

The story of the 1998 theft of Charlie Sheen's Honus Wagner card from the All-Star Cafe: celebrity investors, a locked case, and a mystery that still has an unanswered thread.

Brand Platform

Pac-12 Rivalries

Naming and trophy concepts for the reshaped nine-school Pac-12, turning new matchups into rivalries with real names, real stakes, and real hardware.

About

Matthew Waxman reviewing a script with Joe Buck
Script notes with Joe Buck

I've spent 20 years in advertising production and sports media, and most of that time has gone into the same problem: how do you make a :60 feel like it has a real point of view.

That's the job: find the one true idea, write it clean, and make sure the visuals, the tape, and the copy are all arguing the same case. No filler beats. No pretty shots that don't earn their place.

Outside of client work, I'm building original projects (a scripted comedy pilot, a sports documentary, brand concepts) with the same standard: cohesive, specific, and hopefully funny.
